Common questions. Direct answers.
The questions most leaders have before they take the next step. If something is not covered here, start with the Marketing Clarity Diagnosis or get in touch directly.
The diagnosis and first step
-
It gives you a likely problem type, a likely source of friction, a priority issue to examine first and a recommended next path. It is designed to create clarity before commitment, not to give free strategy away. The result is specific enough to share internally with a CEO, founder or leadership team.

Around a minute. It is designed as a fast first step, not a long audit or consultation. You get a clear recommendation at the end, not a generic score.
-
The call interprets your diagnosis result, pressure-tests the likely root cause and recommends the right next path. It is a fit and clarity conversation, not free strategic planning. It does not include live channel planning, written consulting or unpaid deep analysis.
-
That is fine. The diagnosis is the flagship entry point but it is not the only route. If the need is already clear, you can go directly to Advisory or make a direct Blueprint enquiry.
The services
-
They describe different depths of support. Advisory gives senior decision support on a live issue. Blueprint creates one defined strategic artefact that others can execute. Strategic Oversight protects alignment once strategy exists and execution is underway. The Marketing Clarity Diagnosis will recommend the right starting point if you are unsure.

It depends on the engagement but the output is always something concrete and usable, not a conversation that ends with a document that sits in a drawer.
From Advisory, you leave with a clear decision, a recommended next move and the confidence to act on it. From Blueprint, you receive a strategic artefact tailored to the defined problem, whether that is a strategy, a positioning framework, a go-to-market plan or an operating structure your team can execute without needing Klay present to make it work. From Strategic Oversight, you get a defined review cadence, senior alignment across teams and partners, course correction when execution drifts and, where needed, clarity on the right people, partners, processes and tools before commitments are made.
Across all three the value is the same: clearer direction, sharper decisions and a next move you can stand behind. Not more activity. Not more reports. Not more meetings.
For a better understanding of how each service applies to your specific situation, complete the Marketing Clarity Diagnosis and we can discuss it in your Clarity Review Call.

One clear strategic artefact, defined priorities and a framework that internal teams or external partners can execute without depending on Klay to stay active. It is structured strategy for one defined problem, not a generic marketing deck.

No. It is not day-to-day management, not an execution retainer and not a shadow agency. It is selective senior oversight used when execution drift or coordination risk is real. It exists to protect the value of a strategy once delivery begins, not to replace the teams running it. It can also play a role earlier, helping identify the right agencies, define team structures and build the operating model before execution scales.

No. We define, structure and guide. We do not become the execution layer, the shadow marketing team or the day-to-day operator. Where execution is needed, that sits with your internal team or existing partners. What we can do is oversee it. Strategic Oversight includes helping align teams, hold partners accountable and build the structure that keeps execution on track. It can also include helping clients identify the right agencies, define team structures and make smarter decisions about who does what before headcount or retainers are committed.

Fit and credibility
-
We lead every engagement. Core thinking, problem definition, structure and final narrative stay under Klay ownership throughout. Every engagement is delivered by our team of experts, each with extensive experience across the marketing challenges we solve. Clients work with one accountable owner and receive one coherent output.
-
We build trust through clarity, proof and process before introducing people more directly. The thinking comes first. If it resonates, you will meet the team before any commitment is made. Every engagement begins with a direct conversation, not a contract.
-
The right fit is not about size alone. It is about whether there is a real decision, direction or alignment problem to solve. We work with businesses from early-stage funded startups through to corporate divisions with large marketing budgets. Some need to reset a fragmented marketing function. Others need to build strategic structure before scaling. Others need clearer direction before committing more spend or headcount. What they all have in common is a need for sharper decisions and clearer structure, not more activity.
Further reading: Why marketing keeps feeling frustrating -
We are problem-led, not sector-specific. The structural marketing problems we solve: fragmented direction, unclear priorities, misaligned teams and spend that cannot be defended, exist across every industry. The foundations of good marketing strategy do not change because the sector does. What changes is the context, and that is something we take seriously. Our team has worked across numerous industries and sectors, which means we understand how different commercial environments shape marketing decisions. We are also honest about fit. We only take on engagements where we are confident we can genuinely help. If we are not the right partner for a specific situation, we will say so.

Getting started
-
Yes. Advisory is the clearest low-commitment entry point for leaders who want to test fit before deciding on deeper work. One session. No ongoing obligation.
-
For most, it is the Marketing Clarity Diagnosis. It takes a minute, costs nothing and gives you a clear starting point before any conversation about paid work begins. If you already have a clear live issue, a direct Advisory session is the right move.
-
If marketing feels unclear, spend is hard to defend or growth is being slowed by decisions that keep getting delayed, the timing is usually right. The cost of waiting is rarely less confusion. It is more of it.
